If an EHO walked in this morning, what could you actually produce?
Twenty questions on the records an inspector asks for. You get a score, a blunt verdict, and a list of the gaps ordered by how much they matter — not everything you could tidy up, the things that would actually cost you. Nothing you tick leaves your browser.
GP calculator
Most gross profit goes wrong in the same place: it gets worked off the till price, which flatters every dish on your menu by twelve to nineteen points depending on the VAT rate. This one works off the right number, and shows you the price you'd need to hit the GP you actually want. Use it in the browser or take the spreadsheet — the browser one is the one that works on a phone in the kitchen.
Can a 16-year-old work that shift?
Put in an age and a shift and it tells you whether it is allowed — daily and weekly hour limits, the night-work cut-off, the earliest start, and the rest between shifts. Built to the Protection of Young Persons (Employment) Act 1996, which is short, strict, and the thing most rotas get wrong in the summer.
More to come
If there is a spreadsheet you keep rebuilding, tell us — hello@hospitech.ie. We probably have a version of it already, and if we don't it is usually an afternoon.
These are free because they are useful, not because they are a hook. If you want the software as well, the suite is here — and if you don't, keep the tools anyway.
